Amp Campbell will always be a Michigan State Spartan.

“Once a Spartan, always a Spartan,” Campbell said proudly by phone Sunday.

Amp Campbell made a heroic comeback in 1999, after suffering a neck injury the year prior.

But his allegiance will side with his current employer, Western Michigan University, on Sept. 4. That’s when the Broncos will take on the Spartans


Imagine a healthy Delvon Roe.

For Michigan State basketball fans, that would be a dream come true.

Roe came to East Lansing as a blockbuster high school star, but couldn’t leave his knee problems in Ohio, where they originated. Roe had two procedures before he suited up for his first game with Michigan State.

The nagging injuries led some to dismiss Roe as a bust, or a could have-been, but many have patiently waited for the


Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo has really shown his naysayers that his NBA dream impacted his recruiting.

Those who said he was going to jump ship and join Spartan alum Dan Gilbert in Cleveland weren’t wrong, they were just on the opposite side of right.

Izzo’s naysayers were dead-set that flirting with the somewhat high-profile Cavaliers position was going to turn off recruits.

Former Michigan State guard Chris Allen has been the subject of wide-spread rumors since March.

Some of the rumors have been true, some have yet to be confirmed. He was dismissed from Michigan State on Monday, Aug. 3 for violating unspecified team rules.

For some, that was good enough. For others, Allen’s next destination is still a topic of interest.
